Spirited musician Scott
Brown brings songs to life

by Linda Phillips

There are people in this world that deserve all good things and there are people in this world that truly give all good things. Wherever musician Scott Brown goes, including La Hacienda in Oregon City, you can be assured he brings the goodness of his music and his heart.

Brown is the kind of guy who will listen to your life story without interruption; he is the kind of guy to cheer you on when times are tough. Brown has weathered the storms with the sword of optimism and gracefully. He has a tremendous compassion and empathy for others, causing him to creatively bring each song he plays to life. In the spirit that few can obtain, the charisma he has brought into each and every artist he covers makes for a delightful night of entertainment. Each and every music lover or just lovers out for a well-deserved rendezvous, gives this generous man the right to serenade them.

This writer is a romantic with much admiration for this artist. Brown must be a very patient man because, after driving Tri-met bus all-day, he still has the energy to sing a song and wears a cheerful smile that packs a punch full of soul. He’s truly a delightful person with a talent to share without too much pride to play almost anything requested. Some of this writers favorites include Amarillo by Morning, If by Bread and an original Where Is The Girlfriend?

Brown plays a 12-string guitar and is often off doing casuals and weddings when he is not at La Hacienda, so you are able to have him entertain at your next event. Like the cute dimple he has in his cheek when he smiles, and like the sweetness he brings to every music style, this entertainer will surely be around for many more miles.

The auditorium style that La Hacienda offers is perfect for dining, while enjoying great entertainment. The wait staff is very attentive and always starts you off with chips, salsa and your favorite beverage. The menu is large and offers Mexican and Peruvian cuisine that is fast to your table, fresh and hot.

This writer loves the fresh veggies they served with the crab wrapped in a fajita shell with rice and cheese. All the favorites like sour cream, fresh avocado, sweet onion and pepper with your choice of meat are served at a very reasonable, thrifty price, leaving plenty of room in your budget to hang around for drinks and dessert.

The pleasant decor could lead you to believe you’re on a wonderful south-of-the-border holiday with friends. This will prove to be a nice getaway without the expense and airline travel hassles. The twinkling of night lights in a nicely-dimmed room mimic the feeling of being out under the stars somewhere exotic.

Restaurant owner Roy Dalvan is very hands-on in his business, making sure that everything that leaves his kitchen is authentically good. This establishment has stayed open for more than 21 years and can serve large parties of people for your next special occasion. Refreshing menu items are a great reason to travel south from Portland on I-205 and take the Oregon City exit, take a quick right into the Oregon City shopping center to find La Hacienda restaurant.
