Santorini serves finest Greek, American cuisine
If you’re looking for something different tonight for dinner, Santorini’s Restaurant in Cedar Hills is just the place, located at 11525 Barnes Road. You can find the restaurant by taking Barnes Road west of Highway 26. Follow the road a mile or so and Santorini’s is on your left. A Greek and American menu is sure to have something for everyone in your party.
The restaurant is divided into several rooms to allow customers to spread out and find the right spot to have fun and perhaps a little privacy. Like the volcanic Santorini Islands produce great wines, this venue offers many types of special liquors and fine wines. Any of your favorite beers will be available as well.
Offering many styles of entertainment, this club has billiards, darts, Karaoke nights and also some of Portland’s best live music acts, such as May PE&D cover The Lucy Hammond Band, returning July 17, 8:30 p.m. (all ages 7-10). Crooner Johnny Martin also performs every first Friday of the month.
Operating as a sports bar and a restaurant and nightclub, the eclectic menu includes American food, as well as Greek food. Appetizers like tzatzki, kalamari and chicken wings, fantastic flaming saganaki (cheese dipped in batter then served flaming) and spanakopites (spinach and feta cheese wrapped in filo dough) are provided. For those wanting a variety of snacks, the combo appetizer plate offers a little of all these Greek specialties.
The dinner specialties will have you coming back again and again to try yet another item on the vast menu. Mousaka made with layers of egg plant, zucchini, potatoes and fresh ground meat is delicious. Many Italian entrees are available, as well a seafood florentine or garlic shrimp penne. The Santorini chicken is made of marinated chicken tenderloins, sautéed with mushrooms, served over fettuccini.
The nightclub scene at Santorini is hopping with lots of room for dancing; this is a great spot on the westside of town. The club is owned and operated by Helen and Denny Tzakis and is open seven days a week, open late on Saturdays ‘til four a.m. This would make a great after hours place for folks making their way back in from downtown. To reach the club for upcoming events, call 503-646-6889.
