‘Cruisin’
for Hope’ set to benefit
cancer youth in downtown Milwaukie
Cruisin’ for Hope and the Milwaukie American Legion Post 180 present a youth cancer benefit and community fundraiser, June 13-14.
The main event is Saturday, June 13, a car show and awards in downtown Milwaukie. Enter your classic car, hot rod, motorcycle, 4x4, drift car, race car or other exotic automobile at 8 a.m. The show starts at 10 a.m. and awards are bestowed at 4 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., all vehicles will fire up and rumble around the town-loop course. “Cruise on out” with news cameras rolling and crowds lining the streets!
Live music, beer gardens, BBQ food and other entertainment are featured. Raffle prizes include a flat screen TV, Blazers’ memorabilia and 100s more items. Also enjoy vendor booths, carnival rides and “plenty of family fun.”
Experience the excitement of the First Annual Hydroplanes on the Bay, as more than 85 boats race Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A special grand prix hydroplane exhibition is presented by hoppracing.com, the world record holders!
The Focus Family for 2009 will benefit from this event. Their eldest child, 7-year-old Chance, has Cystic Fibrosis and is currently on the Make A Wish Foundation list. Their 2-year-old daughter Cherish has had two Astrocytoma brain tumors removed at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and continues with chemotherapy treatments.
