Irishtown jam draws acoustic performers

By: K.R. Laurent

Monday evenings, Irishtown Bar and Grill in Vancouver, Wash, is host for an open acoustic jam night.

All players are invited to bring acoustic instruments and perform their favorite songs. The evening festivities MC and performer Eric Tworivers helps organize the talent on and off the stage. Along with Tworivers' group Two Rivers Music, there are ample numbers of musicians there to jam. With an eclectic array of acoustic instruments ranging from mandolins and flutes to guitars and drums, the audience experiences many moods of music. The musicians bring forth styles of rock, classic rock, country, folk, international ballads, and all sprinkled with original music.

Local music groups also come out to perform in this acoustic and relaxed format for a change of pace. Irishtown's venue invites the intimate listener to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and the connection with the performers. With the tables near the stage set as an old-fashioned nightclub, you can hear and see the performers without difficulties.

The jam night begins at 7 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 10 p.m. With an early evening starting time, Irishtown will provide you with some excellent food and beverage choices while you listen. Full dinner menus are available.

Tworivers encourages all to stop by on Monday evenings and give a listen to these performers who bring their instruments and jam along. Irishtown Bar and Grill is located at 11600 S.E.
