New music venue captures spirit on west side
The West Slope Bar and Grill, 8775 S.W. Canyon Lane, located on the west side of Portland-Metro, wants to make a statement: Portland needs a live music venue that captures the music spirit and soul of the city, located on the west side of Portland-Metro and this is the venue!
New owner John Blehm has worked hard behind the scenes to provide the best in food and entertainment for his deserving guests. The club's intention is to host a Cheers-like atmosphere for sports and live music. If you live in the neighborhood, you are already blessed. Stop by and say "hello" and invite friends both near and far. You will not be disappointed. Blehm's friendly staff includes: Patrick, Jackie, Lysa and Danni. They are dedicated to friendly service and will soon be announcing the new menu. The grill is now open for breakfast.
With a capacity of 184, the very clean and upscale club provides two pool tables, four flat panels and the latest edition a 119" TV screen with surround sound to capture the best in sports. For those bands who have their own live videos or media in this format, bring it in for Blehm to play to help promote the music and provide a nice visual of the guest bands. This venue also hosts one of the largest dance floors around, comfortable tables, chairs and booths, a gorgeous fireplace and two sofas for an intimate and comfortable place. The private smoking area is located behind the drapes. Lottery machines and very welcoming restrooms for both men and women are available for guests' convenience. Blehm pays attention to the details, and it shows.
Blehm has partnered with GC PRODUCTIONS for special and themed events starting in January 2009. Read the Ad and calendar in this edition, to promote and book the best in live music. 2009 will bring National acts to this club!
December brings music galore, look for your favorite band or plan to attend the Dec. 12, 2008, Toy Drive / Dance party with famous jazz legend Carl Smith and his big band featuring Carlee Smith on vocals. Donate a new, un-wrapped children's toy to the event, and enjoy the great food and live music! The toys will be distributed with the assistance of several local fire stations and a big thank you goes out to Kathy H. for her 18th year of service to this project!
Additionally, the best in rock, blues and R&B music will be performing in the month of December with famous to almost-famous surprise guests at most events! This is going to be fun!
A special event is planned for sports fans for this year's Super Bowl party; watch for details and the game on February 1, 2009.
Do not miss the Valentine's Day party with a special band performance by CRUSH, special friends of Blehm's. It is also Blehm's 40th birthday, so this will be an event not to miss. Also on tap for March will be a tented, outdoor beer garden event for St. Patrick's Day with live music inside and fun for all.
