The convenient and well-lit parking lot welcomes you to the family-dining-style restaurant. The Big Apple Pizzeria restaurant features a clean and bright setting for folks of all ages, including an overhead, standard-sized TV, a digital action game, free WiFi and more. The floor plan is clear and open; a variety of seating options are readily available. The big picture windows allow natural daylight to enhance the sense of comfort and cleanliness. All pizzas are hand-tossed and the new chef offers home-made lasagna and calzones.
Breakfast is offered Friday-Sunday from 9-11:30 a.m.
Owner Dan Sands opened The Big Apple Pizzeria a little over a year ago. He is known for his excellent management skills. The staff appreciates Sands as the owner-manager and is happy to be working with him.
"We love him to death," says lead bartender Cindy McCollum. "He's amazing."
McCollum is proud of the service presented to the public. A full-service bar accompanies the restaurant menu, as well as daily drink specials and happy hour pizza from 4-6 p.m. Lounge appetizers, served from 5-7 p.m., include 50¢ taco Tuesdays and Thursday spaghetti with meat sauce for $5.
Many video lottery machines glow in the cubbyhole at one end of the bar. Sunday activities include pool leagues; Monday nights are 100 percent football during the season; Tuesdays showcase pool tournaments; Wednesday nights feature live music at 8 p.m., with Thursday and Friday evenings open for future entertainment surprises or simply companionable hours spent with neighborly folks.
Saturdays feature Eric Savage, who performs live with the sounds of a whole band, starting at 8 p.m.
The Big Apple Pizzeria is best known as "The Home of The Ducks." Ducks fans enjoy the games on either the big screen or several smaller TVs. Patrons enjoy a friendly disagreement with other establishments that support the Beavers instead of the Ducks.
A New Year's Eve party is slated, as well as the big-screen Superbowl Sunday broadcast. The Blazers Network is featured starting Jan. 9. Check in with the Big Apple Pizzeria for future special events. The restaurant is open seven days a week, from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. and offers carry-out and delivery services as well as the pleasant dine-in convenience.
