At Clyd's Prime Rib - 2nd Time Through provides eclectic dance music mix

Heads up, all you baby boomers and fans of pop music from the 1950s-‘70s. The2nd Time Through band will be featured at Clyde's Prime Rib Restaurant & Bar, on February 22, from 7-10 p.m. A Portland legend, singer/songwriter Mark Bosnian plays the first set, providing acoustic dinner music from 7-8 p.m.
It looks like this Boomers Wednesday night special event dinner/dance will have it all: Mellow acoustic music during the dinner hour, great food from Clyde’s Prime Rib, an elegant and comfortable dining experience and a fun party band that promises to get you up on the dance floor. The restaurant and lounge are located at 5474 N.E. Sandy Blvd. The best part? No cover!
Mark Bosnian was a member of two seminal Portland rock bands: Burnside Bombers and Salmon Dave. He is an inductee to the Oregon Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, as well as an author and vocal coach.
2nd Time Through has a motto or two that should be kept in mind while enjoying this group. First, they describe themselves as “an eclectic mix of music for your feet.” Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes! Secondly, they advise, “Life is short. Let’s dance!” Now that sounds like a good plan.
A sample song list from the band’s website reads like some cosmic jukebox, circa 1970. Song title after title goads the mind back to memories long forgotten—a kiss stolen on a balmy summer night, driving just for the thrill of it, dancing just for the sheer joy of it, or the heartache from the end of a summer romance. It’s all filed away in the memory banks somewhere and the music hits a nerve, making those elusive memories come flooding back to life. A little bit of blues, R&B, dance numbers and pop anthems—they are all here for your musical entertainment and dancing pleasure.
The night will still be young after you enjoy your prime rib dinner and groove to this unique four-piece band, 2nd Time Through. So even if you have to work the next day, the party will be early enough that you won’t lose any beauty sleep.
