THE SINNERS CLUB ROCKS THE ROSE GARDEN !
Sinners Club 6,392 fans celebrate 30 years of
Portland Winterhawks WHL hockey in Portland, Oct. 28.
Winterhawk fans jammed the Rose Garden Arena to
listen to local classic rock/blues/variety band The Sinners Club
help the WHL hockey team celebrate their 30th Anniversary of continuous
league play. Portland's 5-3 win over the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings
at the 92.3 KGON-FM sponsored event helped to further sweeten the
evening as the crowd roared to the group's "sinfully good" performance.
A pre-game show, followed by break time mini sets, gave this popular
act the chance to flex its musical muscle at this critical game for
the hometown team.
The appearance at the Winterhawks game caps an
impressive year for The Sinners Club. With over 150 shows in 2005,
including stops at the Rose Festival, Ft. Vancouver 4th Of July Fireworks
Display, Tigard Balloon Festival and The Bite Of Oregon, as well
as many popular area venues, the band has garnered some well-deserved
attention. Feature articles in several local publications, and even
a spot in a local television commercial have helped to spread the
word about this entertaining group. Bandmates Dan Golden, Jade Stone,
Doug Jacques and Lionel Adams show their commitment to "helping
the audience have a great time" at every performance. A recent
free benefit concert also shows their awareness of the needs of the
community.
The band has also opened access to the Oregon
Rock And Blues Research Library, believed to be the area's largest
privately held, music-oriented cooperative collection of its kind.
With literally thousands of books, magazines, articles and recordings
related to every facet of music history, performance, business and
lifestyle, the ORB Library is truly an amazing resource. Inquiries
and project requests should be directed to The Sinners Club Hotline
at (503) 649-6366 or by e-mail at DPJDPG@aol.com.
