Disneyland's New Attraction, The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh.
Disneyland's New Attraction, The Many Adventures Of
Winnie The Pooh.

By Patrice Raplee

Summer approaches and vacation planning takes precedence over house chores and yard work, at least in the minds of your children. Promises of good behavior and clean bedrooms become the mantra, whether your child is six or 46. Take their good intentions to heart and surprise your family with a trip to Disneyland!

Disneyland Resort has become a wonderful inclusive vacation destination with the recent addition of Downtown Disney, California Adventure and more theme park hotels. And now, Disneyland is celebrating the opening of the new The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

Located in Critter Country, the new dark ride takes visitors on a visually fun-filled adventure through the Hundred Acre Wood in search of “hunny.” Guests ride in a hunny bee-hive and bounce along with Tigger, then traverse Heffalumps and Woozles in Pooh’s dream world. This new attraction is terrific and it follows Disney’s tradition of fantastic detail and magical visuals.

Disney has refurbished Critter Country by revamping the area with a profusion of colorful plants, benches for resting and a special Winnie the Pooh and Friends greeting site in front of a babbling brook. Kids can meet Pooh and his friends to get an autograph and photo taken with their beloved pals. Critter Country also features Pooh Corner; a store filled with apparel, toys, general Pooh merchandise and fun home furnishings. This store is just the place to obtain those coveted Tigger ears that other Disney visitors are sporting.

The Hungry Bear restaurant has also received rejuvenating attention. The restaurant sits above the river-way among the pine trees in Critter Country and caters to hamburger lovers, as well as vegetarians. The menu also features a variety of healthy selections and even foods to please finicky youngsters. The Hungry Bear is one of the nicest outdoor eateries in Disneyland due to the scrumptious fare and lovely, natural set-ting.

Alas, a casualty of the Critter Country redesign is the Country Bear Jamboree animatronics show. The Bear Jamboree has been retired to make room for the new Pooh ride, but then, who wouldn’t agree that Pooh is worth it!

Disney’s other themed lands; Frontier Land, Adventure Land, Fantasy Land, Tomorrow Land and Mickey’s Toon Town still include all of your favorite rides. When is the last time that you sang “Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me,” while floating along the Pirates of the Caribbean? Do you remember the dancing ghosts of the Haunted Mansion, or flying above Neverland in the Peter Pan ships? Everyone has their favorite memories of Disneyland, but perhaps the most fun is seeing the excited look on your child’s or loved one’s face when they take their first step inside the Magic Kingdom.

Disneyland provides nonstop entertainment in a safe, fun and enchanting atmosphere that supports activi-ties for all the members of your family. Whatever your needs or schedule, Disney offers numerous vacation packages.
