Billionaire Bachelors
By Mitzi Kilke
Nearly every Friday night, you can dance to the sounds of classic rock
and roll at Pub 181 on S.E. 184th and Division.
Billionaire Bachelors jam on rock standards like Doctor, Doctor,
Celebrate, Time and Money. They perform tunes by some of the greatest
rock musicians like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Grand Funk Railroad,
Led Zeplin, the Beatles, Kansas, Santana and their favorite, Pink Floyd.
The Bachelors formed over three years ago when Larry Morgan, known
as the King Pin and who looks like David Crosby, took out an ad for
musicians looking to keep rock live; the kind of rock and roll that
gets you up on your feet, the kind of rock and roll that gets you singing
along with the band, the kind of rock and roll that makes you want to
party.
Doing their bit to keep it live are Jon Lamoreaux (a.k.a. Frenchy)
on guitar; Charlie Swift on drums; Jon Janeway (a.k.a. J.J.) on bass
guitar; Pete Peterson on keyboard and Larry Morgan on lead vocals and
guitar. All sing vocals. All kick it. All do it like it was done.
Their name, Billionaire Bachelors, was picked for its probability to
bring in the chicks and it does, along with some buff and not-so-buff
guys.
So come on out to Pub 181, order up one of their nightly specials,
shrimp and coleslaw or Chicken Fettuccini, dance under checker flags,
sing, play pool under race car light fixtures or just party to the way
the Billionaire Bachelors do it, classic.
