Veteran singer Beryl Davis, who performed with the legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra during the war years, will take the stage with Ted Herman and his Orchestra. They will perform those swing-era sounds everyone remembers so well, recalling a time when the nation laughed, cried and danced amidst joy, sorrow and fevered hope for final victory.
Beryl Davis, daughter of band leader Harry Davis and his lead singer, was discovered in London by Glenn Miller who enlisted her to sing with his highly acclaimed Army Air Force Orchestra. Over the years, she has performed with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Vaughn Monroe and David Rose and His Orchestra. Her rendition of I'll Be Seeing You has become her vocal trademark and is always dedicated to the memory of Major Glenn Miller whose tragic death in a plane crash during the war stunned the world.
Ted Herman and His Orchestra are masters at that unique "big band" sound that has never really lost its appeal. Today, a whole new generation is discovering its charm.
